Each month throughout the year our congregation participates in a

“Cause of the Month.”

This cause may take the form of providing physical labor for a local cause (which is often partnering with a nonprofit organization) or collecting items to assist an organization in carrying out their mission within our community.

In some cases, the cause may involve providing some sort of educational opportunity for the residents of Brookings. In other cases, we may join together alongside others outside of our constituency in an already scheduled event.

But in all cases, we seek to expand the worldview of our minds, while extending our hands in service beyond the walls of our church building.

December Cause of the Month

The BUCC cause of the month for December will be childcare. As such, we will be collecting items for the staff and children of our church daycare, which is now called “Little Stars Academy.” So our director Callie has been organizing note cards with the details of the items needed. These cards will be placed on the Christmas tree near the entrance of the sanctuary. We encourage you all to pick up one (or more) of these cards over the next couple of Sundays and return the item you have purchased by Sunday, Dec. 22nd. You may place your wrapped item under the tree, and it will be delivered to the appropriate staff or child on Mon. Dec. 23rd. Some of the items we will be collecting are supplies for the daycare in general, and we hope you will choose one of those items as well to help meet those needs.
